Yahoo Messenger

Has anyone ever received an offline message from a buddy in his or her yahoo contact list? Oh by the way; do you use yahoo? If you do, you probably must have received some funny offline messages from your contact list member or an offline message to your yahoo messenger.

Some time ago, I received an email that seemed to be from a friend on my yahoo list telling me that he just came back from vacation and he took good quality photographs while on vacation with Sony photo camera which he bought at www.xxxxxxxxxxxx (hub don't allow). So when I clicked on the link, it was actually a photo camera online shop. When I called my friend about the mail, guess what? He didn't send it. His email address was used and his name appeared the same way I saved it. So how did it happen?

Again I got am instant message from a buddy on my yahoo buddy list directing me to buy Viagra at a very cheap price. Immediately I called him up and again, it was a spam! on several occasions it happened. I posted this on yahoo answer, no reasonable response.

I once appeared online when I actually wasn't. I was in fact working on a project and suddenly I saw that I signed in. So I buzzed myself, no response. The I signed in myself and checked if anyone checked my mail or any recent activities - Non !. When I signed out, it signed out completely. So what must have happened?

Two other friends also complained about the same thing. Sometimes they would appear online when they were absolutely not using the Internet. When you try to chat with them they don't reply back. Sometimes they appear online the whole day.

 If either of these phenomena ever happened I suggest you should:

• Change your password
• Sign out completely after using a public computer (e.g internet cafe)
• Avoid using the same password as your email when opening other internet accounts
• It could be you are being followed! -Yes, possibly so.
• clear cookies after using public computers to inter-net.
